Optical Parametric Amplification (OPA)

OPAs use a strong pump laser and a nonlinear medium to amplify an input signal through three-wave mixing. Unlike conventional gain media, OPAs offer broadband, phase-sensitive amplification with minimal added noise, making them ideal for ultra-fast pulse amplification, wavelength translation, and quantum-limited applications. Leveraging extreme dispersion engineering on our NanoPPLN platform, PINC delivers large, broadband, phase-sensitive gain, enabling ultrafast optical switching as well as the generation and measurement of quantum states.
